Haldex Tuning

Here at RRP we have been super busy developing our own Gen 5 Haldex AWD Software upgrade and flashing tool  known as Haldex.Flash. By totally reworking the stock control strategy this allows us to improve power balance, cornering, and launch times. 

Our software upgrade is available for all Quattro and 4Motion MQB vehicles made from 2014-2024 with the module part number 0CQ 907 554 (X). 

Audi RS3 8V and TTRS 8S Now Available (Featuring all the improvements apart from power split as these models already have a 50-50 split)

In its stock form the Generation 5 Haldex unit will only send 30% of its power to the rear wheels under acceleration, although it does have the ability to send up to 50%. This is only achieved in certain situations such as wheelspin and for the most part leaves the car with a 70/30 front to rear power split.  

Our software allows a near perfect 50-50 power split between the front and rear wheels while under acceleration, this works wonders for overall performance in all forms of driving. 

This is all achieved while keeping factory tolerances safe within the Haldex system.  Vehicles with engine software benefit even more, the higher the power output the more prominent the front axle power is. This can lead to potential loss of traction, especially during launch conditions. 

Our upgrade is a must for improved handling, faster launches are simply an added benefit! 

We have carried out extensive testing in all road driving conditions as well as motorsports. During drag racing we found an average 60ft launch improvement of 0.08/0.10 secs depending on conditions. Track work found cars where much more balanced during high speed cornering and corner exits. We even found use cases for cold weather conditions massively assisting ice and snow driving!

VAQ Tuning

As part of our progression into VAG Drivetrain control upgrades we have developed the worlds first VAQ flash tool for front wheel drive MQB Vehicles. 

VAQ, or Vorderachsquersperre, is a torque sensing differential that improves cornering and power distribution in Volkswagen Audi group vehicles. It’s also known as Ediff or ELSD.

VAQ is a Haldex type clutch pack that locks the rotation of the left wheel to the right wheel, if it detects a wheel speed difference from either wheel it will engage the clutch pack, similar to how the all wheel drive Haldex system works.  

We are in the process of engineering an enhanced software that can be applied using our flash tool. 

In the mean time we have released a factory software upgrade utilising the stock software from the later MQB cars such as the MK7 GOLF TCR and Clubsport models. These models had a revised calibration allowing better control and response of the VAQ system. 

This upgrade applies to all MK7 Golf Gti Performance Pack models and Seat Leon Cupra’s built from 2014 to 2017. Models after this already shipped with the latest software.
